Foibles are beautiful companions.
They are comfortably distant yet antipathetically near, for it is easier to know their location than to truly know them.
Our foibles, in defiance of foible, constantly push and pull between two poles with a desire for power.
The artist achieves an armistice the moment they begin to recognize their foible while searching for the language of the work they produce.
This acquaintance unveils an organic power.
The act of creation constantly reflects these foibles back to the artist from the surface, convincing them of the meaninglessness of winning or losing. With this acquired experience and a familiar foible, seeking, holding on, rummaging, and diving deep transform into the most authentic artistic triggers and we paint.
Zaaf sergisinin çıkış noktası, sanatsal üretimde özgün ve samimi bir dil arayışı ile insana dair zaafları tanıma fikridir.
Sanatçılar sergi metinlerinde; üretimi, kişinin zaafıyla ateşkes sağlayacak bir aracı olarak ele alıyor. Zaafın kabulünün ve onu tanıma sürecinin sanatsal verimliliği tetikleyecek bir güç açığa çıkardığını ifade ediyorlar.
Bağımsızlığın İtici Gücü
Bu sergideki eserler, sanatçıların zaaflarla sürekli bir yüzleşme içinde geçen üretim sürecinin yansımalarıdır. Edinilen deneyimle, artık tanıdık bir zaaf; aramak, tutunmak, eşelemek ve dibe dalmak gibi eylemleri en gerçek ilham kaynağına dönüşüyor.
Zaaf ;, sanatçıların bu içsel inşasının tuvale yansıyan ürünlerini sunarken, aynı zamanda
bağımsız üretim pratiği arayışındaki bu sanatçıların birlikte ilk sergisi olma özelliğini taşıyor.
Birbirinden farklı pentürlerde, özgün ifadelerini bu birliktelikle çeşitlendiren sanatçılar için
sergi, gelecekteki bağımsız sergiler serisinin bir başlangıcı niteliğindedir.
The point of departure for the Zaaf exhibition is the search for an authentic and sincere language in artistic production, alongside the idea of recognizing human flaws. In their exhibition texts, the artists approach the act of making as a means of reaching a truce with one's own weaknesses. They express that the acceptance of a flaw and the process of coming to know it unlocks a generative force capable of fueling artistic productivity.
The Driving Force of Independence
The works in this exhibition are reflections of a production process in which the artists have been in constant confrontation with their own weaknesses. Through accumulated experience, a now familiar flaw the impulse to search, to hold on, to dig deep, to sink to the bottom becomes the most genuine source of inspiration. Zaaf presents the works born from this inner construction as it surfaces onto the canvas, while also marking the first joint exhibition of these artists in their pursuit of an independent practice.
Bringing together painters whose voices are distinctly their own, the artists use this collaboration to enrich and diversify their individual expressions. For them, the exhibition stands as the beginning of a series of future independent shows.
